Achillea millefolium

The flower that does it all!

Yarrow is a long lived, spreading perennial that is perfect for hot, dry, sunny locations. 2-4", flat-topped flower heads on 24" stems are gorgeous in the vase, and dry beautifully, retaining most of their color. In the garden, yarrow is beloved by beneficial insects such as damsel bugs, lacewings, lady beetles, and parasitic wasps.

After flowering, yarrow should be cut back almost to ground level to encourage a beautiful, ferny groundcover.

Like all perennials, the first year planted might be slow or even disappointing, but each year they get stronger and stronger and more and more beautiful. BE PATIENT.
